Regardless of the inherent craziness that happens around this time of year, the holidays always manage to bring me a particular sense of joy. The time spent with loved ones, decorating the house with garland and hundreds of lights, the excitement of giving thoughtful gifts, and gathering friends for our annual holiday party are just a few of the things I love about the season.
As overwhelming as planning a holiday bash may seem, it’s one thing that’s never really intimidated me. Last year we had more space, so we hosted a 60+ party at our home. Since we’ve moved to a townhome with less room for entertaining, this year we decided to just have a handful of close friends over to enjoy holiday cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
I’ve hosted my fair share of Christmas parties, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed with what to serve, how to decorate, and activities to do. Tuesday night’s get together was right on cue with hosting a simple, classic, but last minute holiday soiree. I wanted to keep the décor simple – I decorated at the beginning of the month and didn’t change a thing! For food we had it catered by Balducci’s. They have such a big selection to choose from and it’s all so delicious.
This Cranberry Vodka Punch is just the perfect amount of tangy and fruity. It’s the perfect cocktail for any party or gathering!

I wanted to keep my outfit dressy casual so I decided on a red ruffle sleeve sweater dress. This dress is extremely comfortable, not super thick, but its still keeps you warm. I love how you can dress it up with heels or dress it down with booties depending on the occasion. I actually sized up to a medium because I wanted to have room to move around and not worry about it clinging to awkward areas or exposing my food baby 😉 Despite my medium – this dress does run true to size. Its so soft and it has such fun sleeves.
I’ve rounded up a few similar ruffle tiered sleeve dress:
